Horizon Labs reaches photonic interconnect milestone.

The all-optical inter-rack interconnect prototype has cleared its third bench validation gate, two months ahead of schedule.

Horizon Labs, the research division of Netser Group, has cleared the third of five bench-validation gates for its all-optical inter-rack interconnect prototype, two months ahead of the schedule shared at the Q4 2025 research review.

The prototype achieves bidirectional throughput at parity with current copper interconnect at one-fifth the per-port thermal envelope — a critical input to the project's broader thesis that future Tier-IV facilities will be limited by waste-heat extraction rather than compute density.

What's left before deployment

  • Sustained-load validation under representative workloads (Q3 2026)
  • Endurance and field-failure characterization (Q4 2026)
  • Pilot integration with one Sovereign-tier facility (target: H1 2027)

Detailed technical notes, including a discussion of the wavelength-allocation strategy and the photonic loss budget, are available to research partners and Dominion-tier clients.
